The Astonishing Croatia

A country rich in history, cultures, and stunning scenery, Croatia. Visitors are enthralled with its beautiful coast and sea, are delighted about the food, and emboldened by its cultural and natural heritage. Built for defence but breathtakingly picturesque, Croatia's walled towns are among the nation's greatest treasures. The city of Dubrovnik is a well-known example. Dubrovnik is a city on the Adriatic Sea in southern Croatia, it was described by the English poet Lord Byron as the "Pearl of the Adriatic". It is one of Europe's visually striking cities, ringed by monumental defensive walls. You may have seen on it TV since Game of Throne's Kings Landing is in fact the town of Dubrovnik.


Croatia also has the one of the only three preserved Amphitheatre in the world. The Pula Arena in Pula, Croatia is the only remaining Roman amphitheater in the world to maintain its four side towers. It is one of the remaining three pieces of Roman architecture to keep its architectural integrity.

Croatia is the home of the popular dog breed Dalmatians. The breed dates back to the 17th century. The coast 'Dalmatia' is named after the breed.

Historians believe that neckties originated from Croatia since the Croats (Croatian military) first wore knotted neckties in the 1600s. We owe it to the Croatians why we look good in formal wear. And we also owe it them the pens we are now using. Croatian innovator, Slavoljub Penkala, invented the very first mechanical pencil. The name pen comes from his surname.
